Fall Fresh Recipes Using Your Tower Garden Harvest
October is a busy month. Fall is in full swing, with Halloween and the holiday season right around the corner. While this time of year may seem hectic, it’s important to stop, take it all in, and have memorable moments with friends and family. That’s why we’re happy to celebrate Eat Better, Eat Together Month - encouraging families to come together for wholesome meals.
If you started your fall garden in September, you may already have a bounty of vegetables, leafy greens or baby greens. This means it’s time to eat! The turn of the season also provides an opportunity to make changes to your meal options. This could be as simple as swapping out a few ingredients to make those light summer dishes a bit more comforting to accommodate crisp sweater weather. Celebrate autumn, the holidays, family togetherness, and, of course, healthy eating with some of these yummy recipes:
The robust taste of kale lends itself well to cold weather dishes. Swap out those sweet summer berries with some nuts and fall fruit like apples or pears.
You can’t have fall without warm soup! Tomato Basil Soup is a classic and a perfect way to use your basil harvest, especially if you’re growing indoors this season. If your area’s climate has gotten too cold for basil, you can swap it out with another herb, such as thyme or sage.
Speaking of herbs, we love adding them to baked goods! For a twist on a classic dinner roll, check out this recipe for rosemary bread. It’s simple and doesn’t require any rise time.
Encouraging kids to eat their vegetables can sometimes be a challenge, but we bet they’ll take a keener interest if they’ve handpicked them from your Tower Garden! Involve your little ones in this simple broccoli recipe that bodes well as a side dish to almost any dinner.
This recipe is great if you’re looking for something that will use a number of herbs and vegetables. This gratin incorporates brussels sprouts, parsley, sage and cauliflower.
Turn up the heat with a spicy Thai Red Curry! This is a great recipe if you’re one to improvise and get creative in the kitchen. Customize the veggies you use based on your own harvest.
